Gamers Relief Offers Donation to Hurricane Katrina Victims
Hurricane Katrina has devastated the southern United States. Parts of Louisianna, Mississippi, and Alabama are inundated and thousands of homes have been lost to the greatest natural disaster ever to strike this country. Aid is pouring in from places near and far and everyone is giving what they can to help those who are suffering. Gamers too can now contribute to Gamers Relief, the first Hurricane relief aid program made by gamers for gamers. Donate now to help your fellow gamer; your fellow man; who is desperately in need. All proceeds collected will go to the Salvation Army specifically for Hurricane relief aid.

About Us
Hurricane Katrina has dealt a grievous blow to the entire United States, destroying everything in its path and tearing apart Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and other locales throughout the southeast. An area the size of Great Britain is overwhelmed by the destruction. Thousands are feared dead, while hundreds of thousands are left alive but wounded or left with nothing. Help is needed from all corners in this time of need. This is no game.
The video game community is one of the most expansive and well-integrated societies on the web, and by using the vast array of gaming news outlets and message boards to spread the word, it holds the potential to tap a huge amount of financial aid.
With this in mind, Gamers Relief was born. Within 72 hours, an industry record, Gamers Relief was constructed on a volunteer basis by staff at the Advanced Media Network .
Gamers Relief is searching to partner with our colleagues in the media to advertise its efforts and is working to find corporate sponsors to aid either by giving monetary donations or by donating collectible items that can be offered as incentives to personal donors. Once gathered, our funds will be donated in weekly increments to the Salvation Army on behalf of the gaming community to help fund the cleanup following Katrina.
We need your help. There’s no more massively multiplayer environment than the real world we live in. No princesses need to be rescued, but thousands of normal people remain in dire need. We ask that gamers do without just one game, accessory, or console that was on their shopping lists and put this money toward the greatest cause of all- hope. Together, we can help the victims of Katrina press START to continue.
